We recommend an orthodontic screening for your child by age 7. Sometimes early interceptive treatment may be appropriate as the jaws are developing and the permanent teeth are coming on. Full treatment is usually started once all the permanent teeth have emerged. Typically the treatment time will be between 12-24 months.
As a general dentist, Dr. Kwan has a passion for orthodontics. He has spent over 500 hours taking orthodontic courses through the Comprehensive Straight Wire and Functional Orthodontic Program as well as the Progressive Orthodontic Seminars. Furthermore, he is a past member of the D.C. Orthodontic Study Club and a current member of the Radiant Advanced Orthodontic Study Club. Both groups are mentored by experienced orthodontists.
